Now what's this...?

Looks like this Etherpad thing is getting quite some attention. Oh well.

Better get it packaged, right? Initial (unofficial) packages live here. Get your mysqld instance running and shoot it a etherpad-setup-mysql-db.sh to get the database set up. It should be a matter of calling etherpad-run-local.sh from there on.

Etherpad

Also, it turns out that apparently somebody fixed this bug. Anyhow.

Etherpad required some fiddling path-wise, but also ships a good chunk of bundled libraries. Some of these are already in Fedora, others aren't. I compiled a list in the wiki containing the package names and some related links. You've got a minute? Cool, take a look and help us out!

I took a look at your spec out of curiosity because packaging java programs is always extra fun. I noticed something I can offer you a tip for (that has nothing to do with java packaging though). Maybe you know this already but writing sed statements with paths as obviously ugly business with all the path escaping \/ stuff. A trick I do now is to use a different sed token seperator like ^ instead of /.

i.e. s^/old/to/my/file^/new/path^

Has anyone mentioned that you happen to kick ass? Thanks for getting the initial leg work on packaging Etherpad done!
